In June 2017, CUNY-TV, “Asian American Life” reported a disturbing rise in breast cancer in Asian American women and how important psychosocial support, like the kind Plum Blossoms' blog provides, is to their recovery. To see the news coverage, click the link below:
CUNY-TV video: "Asian American Life."
In April and May 2017 combined, Plum Blossoms received over 4,000 views!! This statistic reflect increased use and awareness of the blog. This would not be possible without the willingness of women to tell their stories.
I am now fundraising to produce a 10 minute documentary on the blog of the first support group formed for Chinese-speaking breast cancer survivors 25 years ago. It will be in Chinese with English subtitles. I want EVERY woman diagnosed with breast cancer to have the same feeling I had when I met nearly a dozen of 15 to 25 year + survivors all at once!!! If you would like to contribute to the making of this documentary, please click on the tab "Donate" on my blog and follow the instructions. All contributions are tax-deductible.
Thank you.
